Let me first introduce to you another term used to name Podcasting: Baladodiffuion. If you agree from now on,I will call the video blog and audio blog podcasts or balados, as you get their meaning: It’s the same!

You will understand that podcasting is different from radio-broadcasting and tele-broadcasting in the distribution of audio and video by the fact that the podcasting audience controls somehow the the flow. The audience chooses programs at will, the updates of new programs is automated. In other words,it simply means this, instead of a centralised mecanism wich brings flow to audiences(one to all), it is the actions taken by audience to download the podcasts files (such all by one).The Control is on the other side. When podcasters publish files,it is to listeners that belong the role to manage their reading list, whit their various sucription.The remote loading is then automated and resulting from multiples sources they have choosen.

Some prestigious universities have developped this new way of teaching, such the university of Duke,the university of Standford,Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or the university of California(Berkeley).

In Canada:

Around 2006 some institutions wil start to offer audio and video courses in baladodiffusion,such the McMaster university,HEC Montréal,the university of montreal,the university of Sherbrooke, etc

May 30, 2007 Apple the launch of “iTunes U” via its platform of digital contents “iTunes Store”. The goal of this service was to manage,distribute and control the access to lessons of audio and video contents by students in their college, or university as well on the internet.

To be able to receive,manage and control these contents you need a program called aggregator. It allows you run many syndication at the same time.
